Some of you have noticed that our ad we added is now missing. 

The reason for this is that Google cancelled our contract with them due to an abundance of “invalid clicks” i.e. people were clicking the advertisement without actually buying anything that was advertised. We understand that this is a problem for advertisers and how it can be damaging for them.

We earned around €500/$625.9 from our fortnight of advertising, but given that our contract was pulled before our first payment we probably won’t receive this money and it will be returned to the advertisers. (If we do receive this money //long shot// then we’ll have a celebration project of some sort.)

So it looks like our plan for an advertising-revenue-funded project is not going to work out. It was worth a shot. Thank you all for supporting us in this venture and helping out. We really appreciate your participation in this blog.

As you might recall, we made a post about adding an advertisement to fuckyeahukiss to give us a chance to take on greater fan projects, with the assistance of a little advertising revenue.

We have the power to choose what ads you see, but only by blocking ads you don’t want to see.

If ever you see an advertisement you would not be comfortable clicking being advertised on fuckyeahukiss please tell us and we can block that advertiser from appearing.

(You can tell me directly in my ask box or on twitter. A link to the ad would be the most helpful.)

We want to enter a strong agreement with Google Ads, so they won’t pull out of fuckyeahukiss so we want to make sure that followers genuinely click on the ads consistently to help us out and give Google faith in us as a site. We won’t be posting annoying reminders here on the blog, but please try help us out by clicking the ad whenever you see something that appeals to you when you visit fuckyeahukiss. Our next project could be really big with the help of this advertising, and we might even be able to bulk order with discounts for fuckyeahukiss followers. But to do that, we need to make sure Google doesn’t pull out, and we need to make sure the clicks are genuine.

Along with the coming changes to FuckYeahUKiss, we’ve decided to add a little ad to our page, at the bottom of our sidebar. We hope this ad isn’t obstructive or bothersome to you and we assure you that we have integrity in our decision to add it.

The point of this advertisement and the small stream of revenue, is to allow FuckYeahUKiss and its followers to undertake more ambitious projects. The overall aim is that instead of relying solely on donations from followers or help from the pockets of admins, we can use this ad revenue as a strong foundation for any fan-projects.

Instead of(/as well as♥) donating to our future projects, you can simply click on the advertisement on our page if it appeals to you. With the power of almost 16000 people clicking or making sure they have AdBlock turned off, we could easily manage greater projects for the boys and remind them of the strength of their international fanbase.

This is a trial run for our next project, and we may decide to do away with the advertisement especially if it is bothering followers. We are introducing this as a way people can support FuckYeahUKiss without putting themselves out too much.

We will not be pestering you about clicking on the ads, but we will gently remind you how you can help out when it comes to big project time by making sure you don’t have AdBlock turned on. But if you feel like giving it a view every now and then, we’d like that too.
